Nightlife in Rome

Accademia di Santa Cecilia | Viale Pietro de Coubertin 34

This is the Academy of classical music in Rome and was firstly formed in the 16th century and cofounded by the composer Palestrina. A first class symphonic orchestra performs during the whole year and especially during fall there concerts dedicated to famous composers are organised. The orchestra was directed by the Chinese Myung-Whun Chung until October 2005, when the Italian Antonio Pappano took over. During the summer concerts are held in the open space Auditorium.

This club has been an original discoteque. The interior decoration is changing constantly. Nowadays, it is decorated with big, flat screens on the walls, black, leather couches and the whole feeling it emits is a lounge, minimalistic aesthetic.

Bar della Pace | Via della Pace 5

For those who want to observe the italian dolce vita, Bar della Pace is perfect. Celebrities dressed up in their best enjoy their drink in an art-nouveau environment full with plants. There is a big variety of aperitifs to choose from but drinks are not cheap.

Black out rock club | Via Saturnia 18

This club opened in 1979 and still plays innovative rock, punk, ska and indie music. Concerts of bands are often held here.

Freni e Frizioni (cocktail lounge; pub/beer hall) | Via del Politeanna 4-6

This is a bar that is housed in a former garage. The decoration combines modern works of art with innovative and relatively cheap aperitifs.

L' Angolo Divino | Via dei Balestrari 12

This place has been selling wine and oil for many years now, but recently became a perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine. It is covered in wood and the floor is teracotta coloured. You can also enjoy a light meal and try from the excellent variety of cheeses offered.

Stardust Live Jazz bar | Vicolo dei Renzi 4

This bar is the favourite of jazz lovers. From Rossini to Louis Armstrong, it is open from early in the afternonn until late at night.

Teatro Ghione | Via delle Fornaci 37

This is the place of a former cinema, that nowadays works as a theater hosting well-known artists. Plays that are performed very from ancient greek tragedies to modern, italian plays and Shakespeare plays.

Trimani | Via Cernaia 37b

The Trimani family owns this bar that is the biggest wine bar in Rome. Almost 4.000 different wine labels from all over the world can be tasted here along with a beautifully prepared meal. Wine tasting lessons are also organised here.
