      Trains are a convenient means of public transport for passengers arriving at the Amsterdam airport. Trains offer convenient access to nearby cities and also provide transport to many destinations in Germany and Belgium . Tickets can be purchased at the Nederlandse Spoorwegena.

      The Amsterdam airport is served by a number of public buses, providing easy access to nearby cities. Buses depart from platform A7, in front of Arrivals Hall 2.
    • By taxi
      The journey time from the Amsterdam airport to Amsterdam centre is approximately 15 minutes and there is a taxi station right outside the Arrivals Hall. Taxi's can be booked in advance via the airport website, but there are always tacis waiting in the taxi station of the airport.
  • Security control
    At Amsterdam Airport Schiphol the passport control and security checks for Schengen flights take place in one central location, which is situated directly beyond the check-in desks. Non-Schengen flights are flights that leave from piers D1, E, F and G. The passport control for these flights takes place directly beyond the check-in desks. The check-in desks are situated in Departure halls 1, 2 and 3. The Schengen countries are: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Finland, France, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain (incl. the Canary Islands), and Sweden.
  • Parking
    Schiphol has special car parks for passengers and airport visitors that wish to park their cars for up to two days. These are car parks P1 and P2. If you wish to park at Schiphol for longer than two days, you can park your car at P3, the car park for Long-term parking. Free shuttle buses depart every 10 minutes 24 hours every day from car park P3 to the departure hall. The journey takes about 10 minutes.

    Air traffic at Schiphol uses five runways. There are two places along the runways where you can watch aircraft take off and land up close and at your leisure. You will find these spotting locations next to runways 06-24 (Kaagbaan) and 09-27 (Buitenveldertbaan). Admission to these spotting locations is free.
  • Facilities for the Physically Challenged
    If you have difficulty walking a visit to Schiphol may be extremely strenuous. Because Amsterdam Airport Schiphol believes that the airport should also be easily accessible for non-passengers, it made free wheelchairs available. The yellow Schiphol wheelchairs are located at Car Parks P1 and P2 and at Schiphol Plaza. To use the wheelchair you only need a two-euro coin, which you will get back when you return the wheelchair.
